Today was a busy one for me it was the 5th day of November and boy oh boy was I busy. This morning I volunteered at or for the hospital called UC Davis at the ambulatory Care Ward in the Cardiac Department. Today was really busy there I took so many blood pressures that I am becoming quite the professional when it comes to blood pressure. And I could tell that one patient there enjoys my co. that is Bill Dahl. Now he is about anywhere from 65- 85 years old and he has got a good relationship with me so I appreciate seeing him when I go in on Wed. morning. So this afternoon I went over to the blind center which is over at 2750 24Th Street. And they had me reading to several patients there or clients who were there. They each had their own visual problems some are thin and some are fat but, they are sweet nonetheless. Joe who is the program coordinator there over the reading urged me to go to the Library and get some books that I could read to the group there. So I said sure. That will be fun, I mean getting books that interest me, as he said, they will interest probably every person there. One of the things Joe said that has stuck with me is Blind People have only one thing wrong with them it is that they cannot see. But there senses are heightened so they can do almost anything that I can just differently. They can cook, watch T.V., and even learn. If one is eager enough to teach them. They are normal people but, they have the challenge of not seeing. They cannot see the screen on T.V. but, they can listen. And can re-call alot of the info. heard.
